This has an adverse effect on the local economy for all residents, as such behaviour soon makes tourists avoid certain destinations where it is known to be prevalent.The Government already had an active Tout Prevention Program under Rajasthan Police but it was not bearing enough results. ILJ in collaboration with District Police created 1. Billboards to create awareness among tourists about safety and security measures at tourist spots. 2. Developed an Anti-Tout program and presented it to local police to make the city tout-free. This project is an active intervention with a more nuanced approach, to understand the very nature of touts and attempt to solve their problems at the ground level, providing them with better job opportunities in the hospitality sector so they need not resort to such behaviour.
